Prevention Development
“An Ounce of Prevention Is Worth A Pound of Cure.” - Ben Franklin, 1736
Innovative Wellness has broad experience in developing and evaluating a variety of prevention programs. In doing so, we create and maintain successful, collaborative, and real-world partnerships with community partners, including local schools, state/local governments, and non-profit organizations. Through these community partnerships, Innovative Wellness designs, tests, and delivers new models of tobacco, alcohol, and drug prevention interventions.
For example, Innovative Wellness has successfully completed a federally funded study (National Institute on Drug Abuse; R34 DA032756) to prevent adolescent drug use by providing an innovative physical activity-based preventive intervention in middle school settings. We also collaborated with Children's Hospital of Richmond and Virginia Department of Social Services to develop and evaluate a comprehensive hospital-based, infant mortality and fatality prevention program.
